Death records - not fully researched yet.

This site attempts to follow & construct the family trees of those killed 
during the period of the first world war, it is specific to Kent & appears
very detailed in places.

Birth, Death & marriage searches etc.

Another site offering genealogy searches, may involve some fees if you want
to do some really seriously deep searches.

Linked to the famous Friends reunited this offers searches of many records
& allows the building of your own family trees.  From first attempts see,s
to look at England & Wales but not Scotland.

Loads of data from various sources including census returns

Specially aimed at the Scots offering many records of over 2000 scottish
families.

What can I say about this service that most do not already know?  I'm sure it 
can be very useful and fun but I'm still not a heavy user of the service.

Widely used messaging & chat services, ability to search for names etc

Used by many to promote varied interests & themselves

Is being withdrawn by microsoft as replaced by other products and platforms.

email & chat facilities along with other services

Look for that special person etc. & this one really is free!  The site
is a little cluttered but still accessible.

This dating site is linked to skype & it's users, get a skype name & then
sign up to look for that special someone.

This site offers access to thousands of published family announcements
from births to deaths - appears to be free!
