Like many bedroom musicians over the years I have gathered together a
collection of several instruments, non of them are of great value but all play
well, make noise and give me pleasure.

Although non are of high value with modern build techniques the quality
of some is stunning as widely reviewed on YouTube, now paying around £300 to
£#400 will see you with a guitar you can take anywhere without being let down.
Like many a young man I got my first guitar in my teans, since then I've
thrashed away and built my collection. One or two of them have even appeared
in public at open mic nights!

My collection includes examples inspired by the Fender and Gibson ranges
A twelve string monster! every collector has to have at least one twelve string.

For a short while I also had one of their mandolins, a round back fibre glass
model which has moved on to a new home.
Thanks to Alan Bradley we made a couple of the Gear4Music kit guitars, a twelvestring strat and a jazz bass - not too sure about the twelve stringbut the jazz bass came up really nicely.

Have had a couple of G4M fully finished instruements too which should not
be sniffed at especially their round backe electro acustic model.

Photos to follow when I get a chance!
From Fretking there is a Country squire which is a thin line
telecaster style and Eclat which is a Les Paul with lots more versatility.
This snazzy looking strat was probably my first serious guitar, not only looksthe business but has excellent hardware.

Had a brass nut fitted by Richard Slack when the original shattered, this
gives it an extra something!

This Ibanez is nylon strung and is fitted with an Tonewood amp system whichmainly provides reverb and echo.
From Revelation I've got a Jazz master, a Telecaster style and ina moment of madnes a latp steel!

These instruments have Alan Entwistle pickups and really good quality hardware.
Thanks to Daryl Braun of YouTube fame from Shijie I have both a strat and
Tele influenced style models which have a superb build quality and sound,
they are widely compared to being up to Fender custom shop finish, this of
course does put the price up but is still amazing value for a pro level guitar
and a lot cheaper than the Fenders and Gibsons.

Search for reviews on YouTube to hear more than I can ever say about this brand.
No collection would be complete without a Fender squires model and I'm no
acception, its a strat. I have modified this guitar a bit by adding a ten
way selector switch for the pickups so it's got the standard 5 jpositions plus
another 5 choices for luck!
This rather pretty super strat design not only looks and feels good it really
plays and sounds nice too!

Notice the strap here, hand made by my uncle Brian (Kiwi) who was so very skilled
withleather work, he also brought my first guitar and started me off.

I was lucky enough to be able to purchase this Taurus guitar, made around 1968
its tone and feel are lovely, sorry to say my level of playing will never beable to show off its full potential.
From Vintage there is a Les Paul, 335 and stratocaster style instruments
featuring Trevor Wilkinson pickups and hardware.
And there have been others over the years that have moved on for various reasons:-
Various mandolins, mandolas and octave mandolins my favourites being made
by Paul Hathway and Weber - more about these later.

Suppose I started to fiddle about with mandolins when I fancied a change
from the guitar, there's such a wide range of styles of music that can beplayed with the mandolin from fok to classical.
My main amp is my Yamaha THR30ii which I purchased in 202? - read more
about this by following the link below:-

Looper pedals, echos and Volume Wah produced by Ammoon and Sonix.
For the acoustic instruments I currently own version 1 of this amazing
unit and keeping an eye on the way forward with version 2.

At the moment it's not exactly accessible for those with sight problems
but version 2 now links to smart devices so there might be light at the end
of this particular tunnel - I've made contact with the developers to see if
and what they could do to assist in future releases indeed the latest
version of the software does appear to have more labels on icons and graphics.
